Porous PTFE
Taking advantage of the unique properties of PTFE enables developments of novel applications for lab and industrial requirements, e.g. filters, gas induction pipes, gas distribution systems, catalytic converter mounts, permeable membranes, pressure compensation systems, Ulbricht sphere-type photometers, and many others. In addition to application potentials in the chemical and the semi-conductor industries, engineering design elements made of porous PTFE can now also be found in many automotive applications, e.g in fuel filters or as pressure compensation seals in headlights, horns or airbags.
- Outstanding Chemical Resistance
- Suitable for applications involving high temperature fluctuations between minus 200°C and plus 260°C
- Very good non-adhesive behavior
Contact angle with water is 126°
- Very good electrical and thermal insulation properties
- Easy cleansing in ultra-sonic bath
Porous PTFE is “whiter” than any other material
- The physical properties of porous PTFE are reproducible and can be set at relatively small tolerances.
- Flow rate for air and gases
between 1 and 1000 achievable
- Water hold-back value (e.g. the
pressure required to push water through the pores)
- Pore diameters between 1µm to
100 µm are standard
- Pore volumes between 5% and 65%
