PTFE COMPONENTS
PTFE has many properties which make it the material of choice for a host of engineered components. FTL Technology can supply many products manufactured from PTFE to suit a wide variety of uses.
In applications where PTFE is sometimes not suitable, other plastic materials can be utilised, such as PE - UHMW, or PEEK. Materials such as POM or PA can be combined with PTFE to produce integral assemblies where further strength is needed.
More common PTFE components include:
PTFE is outstanding among fluoroplastics for its exceptional chemical, thermal and dielectric properties. It is these properties which make it ideal for a wide range of tasks in chemical, electrical and medi cal applications. Due to the stable bond between the fluorine atoms and the carbon atoms, and the near-complete screening of the chain of carbon atoms by the fluorine atoms, PTFE is resistant to most chemicals. This property is accounted for by its molecularstructure.
The Elring company's own test rigs, are the result of intensive development of materials and decades of experience.
Today Elring products have become indispensable for numerous technical applications and also in many aspects of daily life.
Fields of application:
Expansion joints in piping systems
Screening for sterile areas in bottling plants
Aseptic valves
Solenoid valves
Metering equipment
Chemical resistance to aggressive fluids, flexibility and a long service life are the characteristics most frequently demanded of diaphragm materials anddesigns. PTFE diaphragms are used in metering equipment, in the pharmaceuticals and foodstuffs industries, in pumps for the chemical industry and in painting plants.
